Yet they’re 9 and 1. Hurts has weapons, an OLine, and a defense. No one is ever clamoring for Philly to draft a QB.

He’s 15/9 TD/INT (has 9 rushing TDs but many are the tush push) with 4 fumbles.

So what you’re saying is that Fields needs an elite roster around him to win games. Something the Bears are nowhere near having. Incredible take.

Fields has had a better year than Lawrence and Hurts. Fields is currently the best performing qb from the 2021 class.

This sub would also demand his white back up that has no business playing should be starting over him and then get really pissy at the idea that a significant portion of this fanbase is racist

So is this the standard to judge fields by. That he’s potentially better than hurts.

Which is okay because a team that stacked only needs the QB to do what is asked of them to get wins (like Brock Purdy)

What is his QBR in crunch time?

Situational intelligence is worth more than any stat line.

When it counted Hurts throws to Smith and he makes a great catch.

    theyd eviscerate Mahomes too

    zomg took a bad sack

zomg fewest 2nd half pts in NFL

zomg went for it all and threw a perfect ball to Scantling who missed it - he shoulda took the open 6 yard play and just executed!

zomg held the ball and had intentional on key 3rd down late!

zomg x 20 other things u could say

It’s really noticeable that the fields folks usually back up what they’re saying with specific examples or statistics, whereas the field haters usually just throw out insults and fake edgy one-liners they saw on political Twitter lol

This feels like people on the Broncos sub defending Wilson’s weak play. They keep pointing out how Wilson is just as good as Myhomes this season.

The Broncos are a .500 team now. That feels relevant.

The difference is the Eagles win games. It’s easy to overlook mediocre numbers when you’re still getting results.

I think people are over critical of Fields, this sub especially, but it’s a lot easier to put a QB under a microscope when their team sucks. Fans are frustrated and looking for answers and it’s easy to blame the guy running the show

Does anybody have any faith that Fields can drive the Bears down the Field to win in the closing seconds?

Does anybody have any faith that Fields can make a game securing first down or drive?

Does anybody have any faith that Fields can secure the win in the closing seconds of a game?

Do you think it is more likely that Fields has a sack, fumble (or both) or throws an INT instead of driving down the field for a win or even securing a victory?

    This is the difference.

The reality is, Hurts wins games so he gets rated probably higher than he deserves. He’s also created some game winning drives. That’s the part we need to see from Fields which we haven’t.

Let me add: I’m a Fields supporter and want the Bears to keep him. I think they can win with him. That said, we do have to see him play better at the end of the game (final two drives). I thought he showed signs of that (that bomb he through to Scott should’ve been caught) but we NEED TO SEE RESULTS.

Man, I really want him to be the guy, but somehow he withers at the end of games when the great QBs step up.

Agree, that said, I’m bummed his bomb to Scott didn’t work out. It seemed like a great pass and potentially could’ve begun changing the narrative. That said, time is out, no excuses we have to see late game production.

Isn’t that the point of the post? That whether the team won or not shouldn’t jade your view of individual performances positively or negatively?

While “the team” won, hurts, despite his struggles, came up big when it mattered. The game saving 40 yard pass is something we have never seen fields make, sadly.

I’ve sadly had to see all of the replies and you’d be surprised how many people have missed the point. We’d likely have a losing record with any other QB, maybe .500.
