  • If you check the description and my other responses I’m not actually advocating we get him, more starting a discussion around him as he is one of few true wr1 that would be available and does have ties to Daboll and Scheon. Appreciate it’s odd posting about a guy you’re not actively trying to promote to the team but since the odds of him coming here isn’t zero I thought I’d see what people think and it’s generally the same as you and I have said

  • Going to repost my earlier response the value aspect from an economics point of view:

Tbf simple economics explains why Saquon and Jacobs were both underpaid using the franchise tag:

    • A GM wants to buy a good (RB) and has the option to pay market price or a set price • The GM and seller (RB agent) negotiate, but the GM knows they can buy at a set price so has no reason to go over the franchise tag • if the GM believed the good was worth less than the buy now price (franchise tag) they would not buy the good (RB) because why overpay? • if the GM believes the good is worth the buy now price or more they will only ever pay the buy now price as why overpay? • it’s very unlikely two goods with different productions have the exact same value so at least one but likely both were underpaid

This is before you even factor in the buy now negates the risk of future loss injury and drop in production limiting them to a yearly renew at whatever the ever decreasing tag price is

  • All depends on draft position for me, if you have your choice of QB and or your why is there at the giants pick they should take one. If their QB of choice is off the board then it’s next best player off the board which likely is MHJ. Taking what people believe is a true WR1 in the top 5 isn’t unheard of and it’s one of the highest value positions outside of QB and edge. It wouldn’t be like taking a RB at 2 as some might compare it to it’s just the GM not forcing a QB choice if the pick isn’t there.

  • Thought this is very applicable to the giants right now with a lot of negativity in the fan base calling for jobs and fires sales, some of it is warranted but that has to be within reason and as long as we can say we are taking measurable steps to improve the team then we can take some success out of this season. For example after this year we will:

    • Have cleared the CAP nightmare that Dave Gettleman left us (huge win)

    • Retained Key Core players for the future (Thomas, Dex) at good prices

    • Allowed our young players on rookie contracts to develop over forcing short term success by using older vets (Thibs, McFadden, Banks to name a few)

    • built depth on the roster putting us in a better position to address area of need in the next off season as more cap/draft capital becomes available to us

We all love winning but not everyone can win every time, focus on things you can control and the results will come

  • A response from one of the many twitter docs Tom Christ, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

“Cervical discs are one of my favorites to treat clinically.

The weakness is secondary to the disc material compressing the nerve in the neck rather than true muscle weakness. In order to regain strength the nerve needs to be offloaded, which is done with various positions and exercises.

The timetable is variable. I’ve seen these clear up in a few treatment sessions, and I’ve seen them linger for several weeks.

This report says most the strength has returned, but risk for re-injury persists for several weeks.

Does not need to be season ending, but if rushed back too soon it can get worse”

Always take these takes with scepticism. Maybe trying to relate it to something more relatable like sciatica (could be widely off base here so complete guess), which can linger past 6 weeks and be prone to re herniating due to the weakened body which takes longer to heal than the initial symptoms
