I think teams are finally figuring out how spring works. This is the time to sign a young NA player or too see how they perform while holding on to your import slot for summer changes.

C9 Licorice XD
This is the one Worlds where it’s fair because T1 legit sent all of their scrim partners home lol. JDG had a turbo advantage in terms of scrims going into semis because they had BLG & WBG whereas T1 had LCK McDonalds essentially.
Team builders r brainless apparently
The amount of people saying no is mind boggling lol. 2017 was 6 years ago if you really don’t think Faker is a better player even if he’s worse RELATIVE to the competition then idk. The way that teams play the game only evolves towards optimization if you put any team/player against a 2017 team they would get annihilated lol.
Just because he’s not as ahead relatively doesn’t mean he’s not objectively better I think that’s the part that people aren’t understanding. No way you think one of the current best players in the world has gotten WORSE lol.
One thing to consider is that in league specifically as the players are learning and optimizing how to play the game they are raising the baseline level of play. You see this in solo queue with the average gold lee sin being able to insec when it wasn’t conceivable 10 years ago.
I say this to say that Faker now is most definitely a better player than he ever was simply because he’s still at the top and the level of play is way higher than it was in 2017. He’s doing so many things that we can’t physically see for his team which was evident by their dramatic drop in ranking when he left.
No Xiahuo feels weird he’s won so many MSI’s and is in Worlds finals. None of the players after Faker have that many accolades so I feel like he should be an honorable mention at least.
I think this narrative that has been going around has gotten pretty out of pocket lol. It started when he was coming back from injury which is fair but that was months ago now and his play has returned to form so his champion pool most likely has as well. I think it’s pretty obvious that he plays/played other things in scrims so teams know he can play other stuff and don’t bother wasting a draft attacking him when you know he will pick Azir which should be playable.
It has more to do with T1 winning and only dropping 1 game in 3 best of series. We haven’t seen them pressured very much even JDG didn’t go to a game 5. WBG will probably attempt to ban out Faker and he will just pull out one of his many champions that he has learned over the years.
I think it’s hard to know what the teams actually can play when we saw JDG try to play ashe and it actually lost them the game probably because Missing isn’t that practiced on it. We just saw T1 3-1 what was supposed to be the best team in the world because they dragged them into their meta and beat them with experience.
I think it’s unplayable for WBG and I also think that people are drawing a lot of comparisons to DRX but they are forgetting an important factor which is that DRX got challenged at every stage whereas WBG essentially has won 1 match against a good team.
T1 3-0 or 3-1 Based off what we have seen this is the only logical prediction. The thing with DRX last year is they actually had a pretty challenging run all things considered and they barely won each time. They got chances to level up honestly their run was very similar to a sports anime or something whereas WBG has beat (1) decent opponent?
People are drawing a lot of similarities but it’s not exactly the same and also with the context of what happened last year, these players are definitely going to be a lot more locked in.
Was based when he said it and it will be based when all is said and done.
I actually like the idea of two semis one day then a break and then finals. We’d probably see much more competitive games with out icing the teams for a week with subpar practice at best going into finals.
Real answer alot of teams hold tryouts for roles even at the top positions. He probably didn’t perform well enough to get picked on the teams he wanted and will hopefully grind in Korea to get his form back and return for summer or next year.
