As a business owner please don’t listen to the comments that have anything personal. You’d be opening the door for him to be offended. You just simply need to say you’re completely booked and then maybe offer another person for him to work with. If he comes back with anything remotely confrontational, block and move on.
People want to pick my brain all the time so what I do is give them some breadcrumbs to work with but not go into detail about how I started my company and all the things I learned along the way. Like a few words of advice and then change the subject lol
If for some reason these can’t be fixed there are people who will buy lightly damaged items in bulk. Just fyi. I’m so sorry that this is happening! There are sites like Upwork and Freelancer where you may find someone who has cut and sew experience that can come up with a clever solution
A few ideas: the more expensive cutting boards can be used for aesthetics/decor in kitchen, market to foodie influencers that need these for photography, offer customization to a board potentially.
I own a graphic apparel company myself and I have been told plenty of times that “oh I can’t spend $69 on a sweatshirt.” 1) cool. 2) you’re not my demographic 3) you’re paying for made in the USA products that have a mineral/vintage wash to them. 4) the right people understand #3.
You’ll hear lots of things. Don’t listen to it. Know who your customer is and keep going. Don’t try to sell to the masses find your niche ❤️
I’ve always said the difference between me and someone else is I just went for it. Also research your heart out and never stop learning.
As a business owner, I’ve only shown appreciation with money. Money talks and that’s legit why they’re working 😆 I never do a “oh let’s have a pizza party and invite some of your family”. We only do that if it’s someone’s birthday. Show them the monay honay 👌🏻
Try to change your mindset and know that now you have a way out of your job. Most people are just stuck and you are able to leave if you really need/wanted to. Free your mind and just know that you have now created a light at the end of the tunnel.
I offer a fam/friends code to use. The ones who want a low price, make any judgement about your pricing or don’t want to pay are not supporting you. A lot of us creatives don’t get taken seriously, no idea why! Stay strong on prices and be confident in what you offer ❤️
