  • RAGE

The whole game is a fun ass looter-shooter and it builds up the villain of General Cross of the Authority…

…only for you to not even face him. You storm a base with an overpowered ass gun killing beginner mutant minions you could off with just a starter pistol and thats it. Thats literally it. BUT, the sequel lets you fight a big bad boss at the end of the game so theres that ig

  • Gabriel Belmont in the Castlevania LoS games

He starts off (like most games) quite powerless but the more stages you play he feels alot more fast and nimble in terms of movement and he feels heavy and strong in terms of his combat

Not only that, in the game’s lore and story he quite literally sets off on a quest to defeat (kill, mostly) the dark versions of the founders of the Brotherhood of Light as they’ve ascended with their good selves to heaven but their dark selves (mainly all the evil and bad shit) stayed on earth to become dark lords. By the time the second game comes about, Gabriel has defeated every dark lord and practically became an immortal demigod vampire and is essentially said to be unkillable because “god is too afraid of him to let him die”. Not only that, before he can kill himself to finally be laid to rest as he wanted (with his silver combat cross from the first game which is the only thing that could kill him) he literally defeats Satan himself

TLDR; a man so strong, he is feared by god and he defeated satan himself, that could only be killed by himself after centuries of wanting to die

  • Mass Effect 3 Omega DLC initial encounter with the Cerberus Reaper Adjutants

The whole place is dark and littered with bodies, those things look creepy, and their attacks are painful too

Sure you may keep a good distance but even if they close that distance the littlest of bits, they have a jumping pounce melee attack that for some reason is able to chain into an instakilling combo you cant escape from. If you keep a distance they shoot a blackhole of biotic energy that has a damage over time effect and is quite painful

That and the meeting David in Overlord DLC from ME2

  • Robber Weasel or the Walker of Illusions from Lies of P

Robber Weasel attacks so fucking fast and she dodges back so unbelievably far and begins to lob stabbing projectiles at you despite her moveset being purely strike based

Walker of Illusions is so goddamn weird like she attacks so fast, she backsteps alot during her fight, SHE CAN SPAWN A CLONE, and she is incredibly hard to stagger to even get hits off on. Even if you sidestep (which makes the fight a bit easier) she will still send yo ass back to the stargazer. Not only that, she’s not even an optional boss so you gotta go through her to even open the door to proceed on
