Very much so I would say. On LCD I was locked to 45fps and pretty stable. The temps would always be 68-70 and the fan RPM was 3500-3800 ish. Always had TDP set to 9 to limit the fan and temps a bit.

On Oled deck I can get all the same settings some high and medium the game looks great like on LCD except I’m now getting a locked solid 50fps. I have the TDP higher at 10 and even 11 the other night but the temps are down at 62-64 and the fan rpm was only hitting 2700-2900. Wasn’t even seeing it hit 3000.

So basically better performance for significant reductions in temperature and fan noise/output. That’s without even mentioning what the oled screen itself does to how the game looks.

Just got my 512 oled today. I was heavy into Control on my LCD so that was the first game I downloaded.

I also can’t wait to try Diablo 4 and Doom Eternal.

The Ascent is also on the list. RE2 remake. I also bought Ori and the will of the wisps to show off the oled screen. So many great games to play just got a full work day to negotiate first tomorrow……

Definitely shouldn’t be like this. Obviously it’s not helped in the slightest these shipments coinciding with Black Friday. Must be one of the lucky few the parcel force van finally made it to mine at half past 4 I had all but given up hope.

Now seeing the amount of people having issues it shouldn’t be a lottery to get your SD delivered or not. What a crappy experience this whole thing has been and sincerely hope you all get what you’ve paid for very soon.

My LCD steam deck I bought in July I believe it was. Not from valve got it from the game collection in the UK. Ordered it Thursday afternoon and was delivered the next day. Tracked right to my door.

Got a series X from Box.co.uk. Couple of days and was DPD who have always been excellent. Can literally track the van on a realtime map.

I realise a new console launch has a lot of moving parts but the amount of issues I’ve seen and still seeing in here is brutal

Same here. Been at work all day but it was delivered at 16:33 my wife was in. These guys have been up against it this weekend especially today Black Friday.

Have you tried putting the tracking number into parcel force if your UK??

Or if not UK whatever carrier they are using?? GLS updates have been rubbish but I’ve now started getting updates through parcel force. Apparently mine is out for delivery now but I didn’t even get an email I’ve found out through the tracking on parcel force site.

I’m sure you can don’t see why not. I’m just going to wait for an email I think there’s a pick up at local post office option. I saw someone else say they chose that. I’m working all day today until 7pm and same tomorrow so I’ll try that.

Happy hunting I’m just glad they are out of the in transit purgatory and are in our area.

Like a lot of people I’m seeing my parcel is now at the local delivery depot. Now it’s with Parcelforce and out of GLS’s hands hopefully it can get here today or tomorrow.

I personally loved it but if you’re not invested in the story and the writing and atmosphere it creates then it could be not for you.

I felt they have created a very weird and incredible world that I just love being in and wandering about exploring and speaking to the weirdest characters I can remember coming across. I would say give it a bit longer but I can’t remember what the refund cut off point is. 90 minutes??

For me personally I feel I notice it more when I’m playing on my 65” tv rather than the SD. Not saying they are any different because they are not they will both play the exact same but it doesn’t bother me as much on the SD.

I have been making use of 40fps on SD a lot though and it’s a perfect compromise imo

CONTROL

Doom eternal is phenomenal on SD I always come back to it. Control also. One of my favourite games of all time and playing it handheld is so cool.
