Never lost any money on my cars. In fact I’m pretty sure I’m up. The cars were 996 C4S, 2 E46 M3s, GC8 STI, VA STI, e46 323i
Sounds like a relationship problem, not a car problem…
I’ve never had to fight my wife on purchasing the things I enjoy. In fact sometimes she eggs me on and I have to be the “reasonable” one. If your wife knows that this is something important to you and that it will bring you joy, she should be supportive.
You just need to make sure it’s not something that’s going to immediately depreciate half its value or cost you large amounts of capital on repairs immediately. Most old manual enthusiast cars won’t depreciate much, and if you’re smart your search, you’ll find a good example in good condition
As in what region produced the best cars in the 90s? If so how can you possibly think Japan had the best cars? You just listed a bunch of affordable sports/luxury cars. They were good because of their performance for price. They’re nowhere near the pinnacle of automotive engineering. Pretty muc the only car on that JDM list with any accolades in motorsports was the GTR. How the fuck is a LS400 and a Toyota Crown on the list? Toyota/Lexus was trying to make cheaper alternatives to the undisputed champion of that segment, the S class. If your talking luxury, Rolls Royce and Bentley exists.
The Porsche 959 was produced in the 90s. The Ferrari F50 was produced in the 90s. The motherfucking McLaren F1 was produced in the 90s. You gonna list a fucking Mitsubishi and Miata, then dismiss the 911? The 993 GT2 was made in the 90s. 993 turbo. The 190E evo. The Japanese cars were good cars, but if you think they were better than their euro counterparts you are absolutely smoking crack
Don’t feel anything for the cars they make today but man F40, F50, or even gated Testarossas and F355s are just gorgeous cars I dream about. Ferrari before they ditched the manual make some beautiful cars
