Hope this is like the time we claimed David Amerson where he contributed right away.

What “heart” looks & sounds like.
I think it was a very plausible plan. It is the reason they opted to move on from Carr …as they were confident in their plan.
Otherwise, why would they not keep Carr until they could find a better alternative? Now we have a massive problem at QB as Garoppolo is not the long-term answer and AOC, in reality, is more likely to not be the answer.
A bird in hand is more valuable than two in the bush.
I was neutral on Carr, so it’s not coming from a perspective where I thought Carr was an amazing QB that still had potential. What you saw was about as good as it was going to get with him.
He could have said “no comment” or changed the subject. Adams strikes me as someone who will speak when he has something to say.
Usually, a player who does not want to be a team says things like “he’s doing what he can control” or “trying to be a good teammate” (code for playing for his teammates, but not his coaches or the franchise).
If you watched the video (and just read the headline) - he goes into more detail why he wants to make the Raiders good again.
I think experience matters. Ideally, you have a leader and manager in the same person.
We witnessed McDaniels as a manager, but not leader. Gruden was both.
Pierce seems to be more of a Leader type who would need to be surrounded by high-caliber managers (OC, DC, ST coaches) and be able to define how they will be accountable and hold them to it.
Personally, I like the Leader + Manager in a single person …but it’s rare as we see.
