No. The team is still owned by a clown. It’s an undesirable FA destination, regardless of the fact that good players hitting the market is becoming exceedingly rare.

No star is asking to come to a team clocking 17-20 wins a year either.

This team is a shit show from the top down. They won’t attract great people or players until Gores and the downstream of cronies are all removed.

I know I’m going to get down-voted all to hell here but I think your position isn’t as good as you’re making it out to be.

1. Yes, there is a lot of young talent, but there’s no fit. None of the young talent can shoot, and I include Cade there (maybe unjustly) as he’s only hitting 30% of his 3’s. Duran and Ausar can’t hit a 3 consistently, leaving what, Stewart and Ivey? They might be able to, but there’s still going to be spacing problems.
2. If the young core is that good, why would we be firing Weaver? We’d be firing Weaver because the young core isn’t as good as it should be. If you don’t believe me, then…
3. The Pistons stink record wise. I won’t go into the Pistons futility, there are a dozen other posts that cover that topic, but there is a reason the Pistons are dead last once again.

That said…

I think if a new GM came in, I would expect them to do a complete teardown. Keep one, maybe 2 pieces tops, and sell the rest for parts and rebuild. There’s also the possibility the GM might try a process 76ers where they try to build a championship team around Cade, but so far I don’t think he’s shown he’s that guy. He might be, and I hope to hell be does get there, but right now I don’t think he is.

lol there was probably a post just like this a year ago, too, and what did we do with all the space last year? Could be that, again, if they deem no one to spend it on- again. I don’t think it will as I think Weaver will be forced to try something, which is a bit scary to think about…
