I have been watching the pistons for a long time and I haven’t enjoyed watching a piston this much since Ben Wallace and Rasheed. All the great things:
- Lockdown defender
- Ball Hawk
- Out hustles everyone - dude sprints at all times
- His vision is awesome and can’t wait for this to grow to elite levels.
- He attacks the basket.
- He’s a dog. He’s strong. Fights.
- He just looks so fun to play with - he’s everyone’s guy at the gym they want to run with.
Tell me why you love Ausar and why he is the best player in the NBA:
I’ve noticed this since summer league. I’ve wondered if his play is representative of the coaching in Overtime Elite. High IQ. I love the way he stays on his feet–guarding vets like Derozen and Butler. He ain’t going for the pump fake.
Add LeVine to that list. AWE-Sar made Zach question himself in those closing minutes.
I fully believe that Zach could’ve gotten 6 or more points in those closing minutes but hesitate when Ausar defended him.
That’s a rookie detroying the confidence of a 9 year veteran.
If I was a teen athlete aspiring to the NBA, I’d probably try going to Overtime Elite. It sounds like a fantastic development program, and the Thompson twins could be huge for making OT a legitimate career path.
He’s like Ron Artest with out the psycho gene
He’s everything we wanted Stanley Johnson to be and more!
Of all the things I like about his game, his hockey passes are my favorite. Zero hesitation, quick processing speed. It demonstrates how well he’s seeing the game ahead of the defense.
He’s like a ballhawk safety out on the court. Just has a nose for the ball, and this effortless brand of athleticism where he can go up and get it on the first, second, or third jump. His defense is great, but his rebounding in crucial situations has helped us keep the momentum in the last couple of games
He looks like has elite athleticism AND basketball IQ. He doesn’t even need to score but if he develops that…holy shit.
