I really don’t enjoy games with cutscenes where you can’t fast skip through dialogues and those who can’t be paused.
Even worse if you have a really long cutscene, two seconds of walking after that cutscene and another long cutscene right after.
Bonus negative points if there’s a long unskippable cutscene right before a hard boss fight and you have to watch it over and over again
What makes most cutscenes annoying to me is if they happen right before a big boss fight and each time you die they make you rewatch it with no way to skip them. Creates a pretty frustrating loop when.
The first Kingdom Hearts
Far Cry 5. Flying around in a helicopter and suddenly get shot by a hallucinatory arrow and BAM! tied up in a chair cutscene.
The duel cutscene in ghost of tsushima felt annoying at first but it grew on me
Anything before a boss fight that you have to try a dozen or more times on. Dark Souls makes this worse when you also have to run for 3-4 minutes and fight enemies along the way each time. The fucking lord of cinder and Smough and ornstein were annoying af because of you’re fighting them for the first time, you’ll probably get stomped 5 or 6 times before you even know what to do, the. You’ll get stomped another 5 or 6 times before you get to the second stage of the boss, then repeat the cycle. I’ve beaten DS1 at least 15 times and it still takes me 8-10 attempts at each because I suck.
Honestly Pokémon Sun & Moon have one of the worst intros not only in a Pokémon game but in general. It’s ridiculously long, interrupted by cutscenes again and again and you can’t rly play the game for a few hours
The Final Fantasy series is probably the most egregious offender, but the Metal Gear Solid series (or at least what I’ve played of them) would come a close second.
Not quite so much a cutscene as a cutaway, but for the same reasons and probably even more annoying, is the Animus sections of just about every Assassin’s Creed game.
Forced, immersion-ruining interruptions that do nothing to advance the story.
Empty environments with cardboard cutout characters spewing poor and unnecessary exposition, or forcing you to trawl through boring “emails” to trickle feed you a terrible story that nobody cares about.
You can’t affect this aspect of the story in any way, and it has absolutely no effect whatsoever on the outcome of the meat of the game.
I want to say ff14 but I might be spoiled by 2 paragraph max quests of Wow. Regardless I’m not sitting through 10 minutes of text.
Just Cause 2. Not the cutscenes themselves (although they might be too cheesy for some people) but the devs added a filmgrain filter to the cutscenes. It slows the cutscenes down. Thankfully there are ways to remove the filter.

Jesus fuck. I’m getting flashbacks just typing that out
I scrolled down way too much for this bro lol
2k18. B-Fresh made me want to snap my disc in half, she was so annoying.
I fucking love Okami. I’ve said once at a party that it’s better than Ocarina of Time… I’m telling you, I love reading and story -adventure/action games… But the text boxes in that… LMAO I’ve never had the best memory, but I remember pressing buttons just to see what an NPC is up to. Took a while to get out of some conversations.
So you’re who those TikTok’s are made for.
Pokémon Sun and Moon.
