personally, i think hes been fantastic. he hasnt exactly had the jump a lot of people were expecting from him, but i couldnt be happier about how hes performed. he can hit his threes, hes been dunking and catching lobs from ty left and right, and i think hes shown flashes of being a decent defender. what is everyone else thinking?

His rebounding is just so bad, he isn’t anything close to a long term option for this team

His future is a spark plug back up

The guy has some magnet hands for sure, some of the best I’ve seen. If he focuses up on defense, he’s a decent starter.

This. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being best), he’s a 7 on offense and I’ll be generous and give him a 4 on defense. He’s an overall average starter. If he can become a 5 or 6 on defense he’s an above average starter. It is worth seeing if he can get there as he plays more within our system. It is telling that the staff went back to Nesmith. Nesmith has had more time with the team, but his overall game showed improvement.

He’s been as expected. Great offensively but inconsistent defensively.

He’s aiight. In terms of substance he’s just an average NBA player but at least he is average with style.

I like him as a bench PF. I think if we can find a better fit next to Myles, like a guy who can actually rebound the basketball and then have Toppin get around 20 minutes a game that’d be a perfect role for him.

I don’t know if he will be here next year or not. We have to find Jarace time at some point, and I think the most likely spot we try to upgrade is the PF spot, so we might not leave a lot of room for him. Nembhard, Mathurin, Toppin, + Smith sounds like a solid bench unit to me.

Like almost everybody else on the team, he has to do better defensively. He can’t be Jordan Nwora with some extra hops and minus the playmaking.

one of the worst boxing out PFs i’ve ever seen start in the league tbh

decent offensive fit, especially if his shot ever becomes 36% for three or better consistently. below average defender.

should be a spark plug role player off the bench imo. i think we should upgrade the PF position via trade sooner than later
