Why is LoL so much hated? Although I wouldn’t say “hated” , just disliked, like a lot. I remember I once told my friend I liked LoL an he just went “hell nah” when I asked him why, he couldn’t give me an exact answer. Not only him, but even in social media. Is there a specific reason? I’m asking cuz I love it, it has a lot of content too! So, why is that? ⊙(・◇・)？

In my opinion the game gets pretty bad the more you play. If you play alone and get into ranked then it’s all going down. You view everything as a ranked game, you always try your best and play meta even if you don’t have fun and focus on winning more than everything so if you lose you just wasted 30 min of your life. Most of players play with this mentality, leading to a toxic playerbase and Riot doesn’t really help sometimes, leaving the game to rot for no reason with no major updates and bad changes in general (pings, chat and so on). I really like LoL and it’s a game I’m always happy to come back to, but I do recognize that sometimes it’s just addiction, not wanting to play, but needing. To end, LoL exists since so long and is so big that almost everyone knows about it, so most of people only know the surface of “League is a toxic game”, giving players a really bad reputation (so much so I NEVER say I play it, unless we’re talking about it), but I believe there’s good too, it’s just up to the huge greedy company Riot has become.
The worst thing about league is league players.

They love to hate but the facts are League is the best moba. Lore is better. Champ design is better. The snappy movements and plays you can make are only available here. The “Faker what was that” can’t happen in any other game.
Riot may not be saints but they keep this game regularly updated, sort-of up to date, they make side content for it like all the 3rd party games and Arcane, LoR, etc. You can see they truly love the world they created and their game.
Now ofc there are sme business execs who want hard cash out of everything. They are present in every game company once it reaches a certain size and it is what it is.
The community sucks
Biggest problem with League is the time investment per game. They really need to ARAM SR with starting level 3 and gold and xp gain because we really don’t need 20 minute laning phases.
It’s a love to hate relationship. Most ppl who bash the game and Riot are just passionate fans that want the best for the game. Similar to Diablo 4 players, they are diehard fans of the franchise and just get frustrated when Blizzard make bizarre decisions. That and Riot seem to be disinterested in giving the game a new game engine, which it desperately needed.
Because hating the popular and liking the competition or unpopular is cool 😎
People don’t even know anything about the gameplay, it just has one of the worst reputations ever for the community and people who quit the game spreading hate.
It’s kinda just “bad game” and not much deeper than that. I’d compare it to something like Fortnite where people don’t actually hate the game itself, but the community and reputation.
Its a cespool of worst behavior in on-line gaming.
It has so much potential but the devs are hindering it so hard by horrible decisions that no one wants, plus it is very unbalanced and only ~40 champions in the game are actually viable, and it’s because they sell skins
Also we were promised skarner rework 2020 now it’s almost 2024 and they skipped it to release cheap-ass Invoker
Because the community isn’t very welcoming and the game keeps changing which makes it hard for newer players
Tbf, Dota 2 keeps revamping and changing yet it’s always easy to pick up for newer players, change isn’t bad, it’s how the devs implement it that is bad
IDK, the game is very fun imo.
The name’s kinda cringe let’s be honest. I’d be willing to bet if it had a more subtle name it wouldn’t be nearly as looked down on.
In real life, it’s not really hated.
Then on internet, it’s internet.
