Mitsubishi, weirdly enough, where I’m from (Philippines), they are doing just fine, but they are struggling everywhere else. Mitsubishi have a special place in our hearts, we love our box-type Lancers, Galants, and especially Pajeros. Today though Evos are gone, the Eclipse is an SUV, I really loved the new Mirage but they never thought of making a hot hatch, which would have been perfect!
I mean a comeback doesn’t mean they exist… I really hope Pontiac comes back somehow
mitsubishi can go to hell lol. bring back suzuki so i can have a jimny
I think Mitsubishi really could make a comeback if they focused on simple and inexpensive cars. Ditch the shitty CVT’s, up reliability and manufacture what they used to be good at. No one makes cheap, reliable, simple cars anymore. Not everyone wants or needs 15" screens, 14 different traffic alert systems, crash mitigation etc.
BMW. The bones are there. They just need to dump their styler and make sure they keep putting buttons in the cars.
obv everybody would love to see a new GTR. and im sure people would love to see nissan make another 4wd compact truck. i feel like that could be a huge market, if more companies released super affordable, basic, 4wd trucks like old nissans and toyotas.
Volvo.
They aren’t dead and are, in fact, doing pretty well…but they’ve lost the spunky attitude ever since Polestar was spun off. Like, throughout the 2000s and 2010s they were rising to challenge the Germans in their own way. The SPA S60 and V60 were supposed to be - and were even originally marketed as - the sportiest and most dynamic driving cars ever from the company…and then Samuelsson happened. Right as that car was launched, they went all-in on safety, playing down the sporty aspects across the brand and even changing the marketing for 2020+. Then the pandemic happened and extremely aggressive cost-cutting was implemented: no more fun speaker-cone color, no dynamic ride, no ventilated seats, no shift paddles, no R-Design badges, no drive mode selector, and the OS change from Sensus to Android Automotive rolled back some features because they couldn’t be fucked to finish the software feature-set before implementing it in production.
And soon all they will sell are SUVs and crossovers.
Sad how far the brand has fallen since the firecracker P3 V60 Polestar.
The Mitsubishi L200/Triton wherever they sell them seems like a great, cheaper alternative to the Hilux. If I lived in a developing country I sure as hell would just grab the first one of those I see and set out to the rugged lands instead of saving every paycheck towards a Toyota.

Lotus.
The brand name is still alive, but the company might as well be dead. In what world does a 1.400 kg entry-level Lotus make sense? In what world that makes sense does Lotus offer a 2.500 kg car!!! This is insane.
“Oh but their cars didn’t sell well, hurr durr”. Yeah, as if the reason they didn’t sell well was low weight. It’s all marketing. They could have made an SUV their own way, and offered something special while still filling a gap in the market. There are crossovers out there that weigh an entire TON less than the eletre. I’m sure they could have done better, but whoever bought that brand doesn’t care, they just want a sportcar name for their lineup. Fuck that.
Bring back the real Lotus.
Pontiac. Just for a trans am and GTO reboot.
Yugo
I miss Pontiac like you wouldn’t believe. It broke my heart when GM ended that company.
