like the Bucks fans treat Giannis or Nuggets fans treat Jokic. Bro is #1 all time in points per minute, #3 all time in pts per game, and he’s the reigning MVP. He’s a big with GUARD SKILLS who can credibly score at all 3 levels. It’s exhausting wading through Sixer “fan” comments about the guy that range from back handed compliments at the nice end to outright slander on the other. Newsflash, when you’re looking at Embiid you’re likely to be looking at the best Sixer of your lifetime. And I wish we acted like it more often.
I agree completely. Trade him to the bulls who’s fans will treat him good. Pat Williams a few years away from almost being close to Kawhi, trade him for Embiid straight up
Milwaukee and Denver are not used to greatness at this level. We have a high standard due to who has come before. That said, in my 50 years as a Sixers fan, I haven’t seen this level of love this consistently for a player without a title. He is greatly appreciated but it’s time to win
Preach brother! All time greats legacies are usually established and remember based on playoff moments and performances. To outside, ppl see Joel in Ewing tier (not bad still HoFer) but a ring or dominant playoff run, ppl will put respect on his name and have him in Hakeem/Shaq/Joker tier
Everyone knows Barkley was great. But he’s never in the conversation of the greats cause he never reached the top of the mountain.
Rangz Erneh
weird take lol. everyone here thinks embiid is an amazing superstar talent and most probably think he’s the best player in the league, but it doesn’t mean we aren’t allowed to criticize him? we still give him lots of love but there are legitimate issues with him that need to be addressed and fixed / worked around.
Everyone is talking about how Giannis and Jokic have rings when even before they won they were treated much better by their fanbases.
Our fanbase is just dogshit. Truth hurts.
Yeah it’s crazy. MVP of the league and people want to trade him. I don’t know what it is about Philly fans that makes them want to hate their best player. Embiid, McNabb, Lindros, Mike Schmidt. It’s a team sport. Not tennis. No, Embiid had not killed it in the playoffs, because he has always been injured. Partly from having to carry the whole team on his back for 40 minutes a game for 82 games all season long, and he is always running on fumes when the playoffs come around. Plus it is a team sport. Embiid has never been on the best team. Heck, for most of his career BEN FUCKING SIMMONS had been the second best player on the team. You try to win a championship with Ben Simmons as your second best player.
One of the things I’m not surprised about is mcnabb nout wanting to talk to Angelo even if he supposedly apologized as he is claiming on his book tour. Angelo fetishized the shit out of being cool booing Donovan and now wants to act like he was sorry? What a piece of shit. One of the reasons spike eskin has been so successful is he was smart enough to just not fight with Angelo and let him do what he wanted as long as the station made money.
I love Joel. I really do. He’s unstoppable…when he wants to be. I’m riding with him regardless but all excuses aside, we all HAVE to agree that his emotions affect his play, for better or worse. I love when he’s hyped up and aggressive. But if a call or two doesn’t go his way, or the opposing team goes on a run, his head is down and his effort suffers. I can’t be the only one who sees it. There’s nothing wrong with wanting accountability for that.
It’s because he hasn’t gotten out of the second round his whole career. Fan bases who want championships eventually sour on their stars if they don’t deliver. If you want to be a fan who doesn’t care about championships you can root for Portland or Memphis
i have been a Sixer fan since the 60s.
I watched Wilt, Doc, Charles and a lot of others. Joel is easily in the same category as those guys.
If Embiid gets past the second round, he’ll get all the accolades. For now seems like he’s always hurt or sick at playoff time.
I’m new here, and became an Embiid fan during the playoffs last season. He’s an MVP calibre player who gets so much disrespect for no reason. Losing in 7 to a stacked Celtics team is not choking. Winning playoff games is hard. Fuck the Celtics. Watching Embiid play this season has been awesome, he’s so fluid, smart, efficient etc etc etc. Also it’s way easier to be a sixers fan now the system isn’t here. I’m a Mavericks fan at heart but I hope it’s Sixers we see in the finals.
