Nice to see a good old fashioned entry pass to the seven footer in the paint
Early but this might already be my favorite squad of the part decade
Haliburton is having a 25+ assist game this season… calling it now.
If you have a SiriusXM subscription, the NBA station has a good 50-min long download/stream with Mark Boyle interviewing several players and Carlisle about the upcoming season. I liked hearing from the new players. Obi Toppin impressed me with what he said…acknowledged that the team didn’t acquire him for his defense/isn’t known for his defense, and has been working hard to get better on defense. The team overall has had that focus. And they all sound hungry, individually and collectively as a team, to be better, surprise people and win a lot more games this year.
I hope Jarace and Shepphard get minutes. They don’t need to be firmly in the rotation but if you give them minutes they will earn their spot eventually.
Mathurin is a fucking Gangstarr
I know it literally means nothing but Mathurin being the SF and Brown the SG feels wrong to me. Can they switch?
Haliburton and Mathurin are supposed to be our future backcourt. Can’t really say that anymore if Benn’s the small forward
i’m interested to see how we use this deep team of ours in game 1:
STARTERS
Haliburton
Mathurin
Brown
Toppin
Turner
BENCH
Nembhard
Hield
Nesmith
Walker
Smith
RESERVES
McConnell
Sheppard
Nwora
Theis
Jackson
If you told me back in the day when we won 61 games that a Rick coached team would play like this at some point I would have called you a damn fool
Having “Toppin” as a last name is wild.
It feels like a glacial pace so far. What is going on?
Yikes, the defense is still bad. Waller has a chance to crack this starting lineup sooner than later.
WHAT THE FUCK !!! THIS IS PACERS BASKETBALL ‼️‼️
Hard to believe Carlisle’s first tenure here was only 4 years.
The team ball, team chemistry, extra pass, ball movement, grit, and communication of this team and what I’ve seen tonight… has me mildly erect.
