I mean no offense by the question, just curious as an OKC fan who feels my team is one high BBIQ, rebounding big away from being a real threat. OKC obviously has a billion draft assets, so I’m curious what you would call fair return for his contract. I’m not sure what Masai’s plan is for this roster so I don’t know what type of offer makes sense. FWIW, our starting 5 + Cason Wallace are all going to be off the table.

Would you do all of these for Jak:

Masai doubled down on the Jak trade against the wishes of many here. Not sure he’d trade Jak unless the team fell apart. The price paid was 1st + 2nds and now he’s locked up for a few yrs on reasonable money but harder to match then just birch as filler. Idk who on your roster you’d part with to match money but I think some here like dort. At least, the memes are fun, anyway.

If it involves more than 1 pick, Bertans

If it’s for a player, prolly Lu Dort

Masai like his is guys and Jak is originally his pick. The only way he’s gone is if they commit to the 3 wings they have and need a stretch 5. So if Milwaukee decides Giannis at the 5 is best for his and Dame and Lopez becomes available in a 3 team deal, Jaks probably stuck in Toronto. I think the vision is for Jak to plug a hole until precious develops then its a return to longbois.

I would do it for our FRP back in a heart beat. Horrible trade then, still is now. Yak is effectively an average value starting C on an average contract and we somehow gave up a (probable) lottery pick for him.

The problem is that Toronto would have to make that trade with others in mind. They want their salaries to be just below the tax line. Trading Yak and creating cap space with the move doesn’t help so unless someone making around 17-19 mil in salary is coming back it doesn’t work financially with Toronto. What package makes sense at that price point?

Note: salary dumping Davis Bertrans is of no interest to Toronto.

Come up with a set of players that makes sense money wise and go from there.

Why doesn’t Bertans make sense? I was thinking something like Bertans, Mann and the Rockets 2024 top-4 protected first.

Lol. The Raptors biggest need is a future point guard. The next biggest would be a starting big if we trade Poeltl.

So if Cason Wallace and a big are off the table, that’s a tough ask.

I guess what I’m asking is: are draft assets and some young developmental pieces with upside (Mann and Dieng are both former first rounders that would be available) for Poeltl unreasonable? I think if you asked most OKC redditors they’d balk at trading Dieng but I think they’re unreasonably attached to him.

The only positive he brings is rebounding if that’s what you’re looking. Other than that he’s a ver poor shooter and brings you below average FT shooting.
