Gunna enjoy my last evening of piece and quiet. Been a long 9 months and couldn’t be more excited… Now what to play?

(There’s WiFi, just haven’t connected to it yet)

Oh you have no idea what you’re in for. Enjoy your last day of being able to play games for any real amount of time. And you better help out your wife

Even been to a delivery? Especially an induced/CS where you just sit around and wait?

I seemed to have annoyed a lot of people…
I can assure you I haven’t neglected my wife, we are sitting here in a private room, with not much else to do until the operation tomorrow, we we’re told to book in the day before.
Me and my wife both play games, it’s something that brings us together. I’m super buzzing to be able to say I’m going to be a father tomorrow, but until then, I don’t think it’s too bad to sneak in a few rounds of Vampire Survivors.
We have 2 “watchers” designated, me and my mother (who is so excited to become a grandmother, and is sitting behind me on the sofa playing games on her phone). I just did a Starbucks run, and now I’m playing a bit of Grim Dawn.

To everyone else, thanks guys and gals!

I wanna get the Witcher 3 but don’t know how it performs on the SD, so I’ll ask you: How is it running? How many fps do you have? And how long can you play before your battery runs low?

1271 games. It’s not often I find someone else who broke the 1k games mark.

You should give your Deck to the kid. Raise them right. Then you’ll have no choice but to get an OLED…

Weirdest thing about this picture is how much she looks like my sister’s college roommate.

I thought he was referring to the steam deck oled release as well lol. I’m thinking of getting this as a Christmas present for myself. Almost pulled the trigger on the rog ally for $500 ($200 off) last week but read about bans in call of duty for anti cheat being triggered because of anti lag settings are something which was my primary reason for getting it. I already have a ps5, Nintendo switch, and Xbox series S, I just wanted to play call of duty in bed. To anyone with this device, is a good for retro gaming emulation and can call of duty multilayer be played online with no risk of banning? Also congrats OP on the baby 👶 🥳🎉

Damn. RIP gaming for awhile… tho it won’t be too bad.

I actually struggle to have children and we paid tons of money to IVF to get one and still failed… i wouls trade gaming for kids…

Oh well. It will get harder to engage in your hobbies the first few years. Then you can slowly introduce your children to your hobbies while also let them engage in their own activities with you/by themselves/with their friends.

Geez. Lots of non-baby havers here I guess. We had our third baby 5 months ago (June). I brought my Steam Deck and played a bunch of the No Man’s Sky expedition that was going on at the time. Trust me, there’s a lot more down time than you realize.

I held my baby for several hours, I let him chew on my (gloved) finger for a whole hour until my nerves felt pinched so I could let my wife sleep. I changed many diapers. I slept a little bit. But what are you going to do while your wife feeds for the twenty millionth time? Just stare at them? Trust me, staring at your kid in awe for 8+ hours does not make you a better dad. That comes in the multiple decades that come after all that.

Help as much as possible, relax when there’s nothing you can do.
