  • A remastered video of the first time the Broncos ever played on MNF was posted on YT recently. If you haven’t seen it, it’s interesting from the perspective of how much the game has changed since 1973. In some ways it was so much more entertaining because it was almost exclusively the play on the field that determined the outcome and not all the penalties, plays being reviewed or the calls not being made. There’s a play in that game where a Broncos player gets clothes lined and everybody just gets up and runs back to the huddle, no reaction from the refs or the players whatsoever. Its freaking surreal when you consider some of the plays that draw penalties in today’s game, like the in bounds so called late hit on Mahomes in Green Bay.

One thing that hasn’t changed is the broadcast featuring announcers that can be extremely annoying to listen to. Back then it was Howard Cosell but in many ways he was exactly like Collinsworth, he picked out certain players and made over the top observations about them during games. So it really is something that the NFL and the broadcasting companies have always agreed on and it likely won’t be going away any time soon. I’m with many others, if you listen to what Collinsworth says half the time and actually think about the words you just heard, it’s the most ignorant drivel you are going to hear all week. I’ve never heard a comment from CC and thought to myself, that’s something very interesting that I never considered previously.

  • DS49 was the man! Definitely one of my all-time favorite Broncos of all time as well. Another one of the many Broncos that if they had the same type of career playing in Pittsburgh or Dallas would have been in the HOF years ago. He was not only great in coverage but would inflict some punishment during tackles. I also still remember when he blocked 2 FG attempts back to back because the first one got negated due to one of his teammates being offside. Playing his entire career in Denver is the cherry on top.

  • It’s interesting to compare the amount of soft ass touch fouls Embiid draws every game to Jokic getting hammered multiple times per game with no whistle.

What I noticed is Jokic has too much integrity and respect for the game to throw up his arms every time he feels contact and then purposely lose control of the ball like what Embiid does on a consistent basis.

Imagine a world where the refs have integrity and a desire to behave properly, the NBA doesn’t exist in that world.

  • I’m not sure which was worse, CC and his insane need to bring Mahomes comparisons to every broadcast or the size of the Tirico melon. Next time you see a shot of the 2 clowns together in the booth, take a close look to compare the difference in the circumference of their skulls. I am fairly confident the broadcast network could create a new show called Check Out the Big Brain on Mike.

  • If the Broncos play with same intensity as the past 2 weeks the games going forward should continue to be close.

Funny thing about the Vikings is they learned last season how to keep the score close and play just well enough to win. That style of play depends on more of a team effort than just relying on one player.

It will be interesting to see which team succeeds most with playing great D, boring O and don’t make mistakes on Special teams.

Hopefully it will be like last week because even though it was nerve wracking as hell it sure was fun to watch.

I’m just happy Broncos games have been so entertaining for the first time in quite a while.

  • I understand most of you weren’t born at the time but way back when I was a young person Denver made it to the first Superbowl they ever played in back in 1977.

The way that team played reminds me a lot of this current Broncos team.

The 77 team played outstanding defense and the boring as hell to watch offense scored few points but more importantly avoided turning the ball over. Denver’s QB was Craig Morton and if you think Russ holds on to the ball for too long, you should have seen that dude play. But just like what is happening now on offense they would frustrate the hell out of you but in the end that Craig Morton team was able to win more often than not.

Not trying to claim that old formula works in the modern game but if you would have told me at the start of this season or even 4 weeks ago Denver was going to defeat both KC and then win in Buffalo in consecutive games, I would have laughed in your face

  • Let’s look at James Harden historically. Starts in OKC with a much younger KD and Westbrook and didn’t win nearly as many games as what the media were predicting. Later ends up reunited with KD in Brooklyn with Kyrie instead of Westbrook. Media immediately annoints them the team to beat because they are definitely going to the Finals. How did that turn out? Then he forces a trade to play in Philly with Embiid because that pairing along with Ben Simmons equals sure fire NBA championship. How did that turn out? Now as a much older player he’s joining a Clippers team that hasn’t been nearly as consistently great as everyone predicted after they paired Kawhi with PG13. Add Harden into that mix and what do you get? I’m going with the same shit different team answer.
