Obvious choice for me - BG3.

    Personal favorite - Hogwarts Legacy.

Don’t get me wrong, I love everything about BG3, (and D&D).

But my first 15 hours in Hogwarts Legacy had me feeling like a kid again.

I know it has flaws. I’m not blind to them. But that feeling, walking around Hogwarts, attending classes, learning spells, decorating my room of requirement, going to hogsmeade, rescuing a Hippogriff… There was something about that game i just can’t quantify.

  • There is a difference between wanting more content because the game was fun, and demanding more content because the game is broken and boring.

    Here’s a metaphor:

Larian is a great restaurant. you go to the restaurant and order a meal, you get BG3. Its freaking delicious. You leave the restaurant satisfied, but cannot wait to come back and eat there again, because it was delicious and filling.

Blizzard is a big chain restaurant. you go to the restaurant and order a meal, you get D4. It’s overpriced, but you get it anyway. The first bite is tasty, but there’s not much there on the plate to eat, and its basically all sugar. and before you even get halfway through your meal the waiter comes by and takes a bunch of shit off your plate, shit you were enjoying, because they didn’t mean to give it to you. So you finish the plate of sugary foods, you’re not full, and you are annoyed you paid so much for a plate of so little. So you ask the waiter to bring more food. The waiter apologizes for the lack of food, and says they’ll get right on it. And then the owner comes out and complains about all the patrons having no patience and demanding more and more food. YES. BECAUSE THEY’RE IN THE RESTAURANT HUNGRY, YOU DIDN’T FEED THEM.
