idk grant’s contract is p bad i so i think that type of deal is fair and realistic.
Jerami Grant is the best trade target in my view. He’s 6’8” with a 7’3” wingspan, super skilled on offense, great shooter, and he’s been a very impactful weakside rim protector before which is what we’d demand of him defensively. Also, he’d be cheap to acquire from an asset POV cuz his contract is not great.
Right now, Orlando has the #1 defense and WCJ will be a big part of that when he gets back from injury, they won’t trade him for scraps.
Thj for Boucher and Precious and green, maxi, and curry for jerami Grant and our size issues are fixed. Please Nico
I’d rather expend half those assets on kuzma or grant than OG. I think OG has gotten a bit overrated in the general nba community, and he’s abt to get a huge contract. U could even wait for the offseason and try to get in on the OG sweepstakes and not move assets. Kuzma and grant are both bigger, give u about 50-75% of his defense and double the offense. I think those guys are much better investments especially kuz given his contract.
I think a move with Toronto which is thj for Boucher and precious achiuwa would be a shrewd low cost high impact move
I mean Tim hardaway is playing big minutes and he’s a pretty atrocious off ball defender. Dwight Powell can’t protect the rim. We have no size at the 3 and 4 position. Even grant williams is pretty short and ground-bound.
Also, we run a scheme that’s based on help and rotations and running guys off the 3 point line, but we don’t really have the size to contest at the rim with any of our help defenders, and our highest “feel” help defender is kyrie and he’s 6’1”. If we ran a scheme that was based on packing the paint or if we ran a scheme that was based on switching and helping at the rim, the stats would probably be better. For example, against Toronto, if we had just packed the paint and let them shoot 3s, we probably win and don’t give up all those paint points. But I guess the staff wanted to keep our defensive identity and so we were still running Toronto’s players off the 3 point line.
In theory, this scheme should help against better teams by taking away 3 point attempts and funneling teams towards help in the paint where they take a tough runner or floater, but we need more size and length in order to fully actualize this scheme.
No more Reggie bullock bricking threes 🙏
Something like the goat is about rings. If Luka gets like six rings he’ll be in the convo
New Orleans commentators are so annoying. They called Luka and grant whiners at the beginning of the game but been complaining abt every little thing all game
thj for achiuwa. give toronto spacing and scorer. mavs get a big
If we’re a top 3 seed he’ll win it in my view. He would’ve won it last year too imo if we were top 3. MVP is as much abt team success as player success.
Hardy needs to learn how to play in the flow of the offense. He plays much better when he knows he’s gon play minutes instead of feeling like he has to prove himself in a short time. But mentally he has to figure it out. It’s still early and I’m sure he will
Lmaooo yall see our team get cooked year after year game after game and then lively comes in and it’s totally different and you’re still saying this. Use your eyes.
Jason Kidd is such an awful coach. Hardaway gave up that 3 looking away from Royce o neale and he’s on the floor the whole rest of the game. If one of the guys Kidd hates did that, they’d get benched for five games. Lively got benched for god knows what reason and then maxi and Powell showed off their dogshit defense the rest of the game. Now that we have a real rim protector in Lively, it’s so noticeable how much better our defense is with him. Guys don’t have to be as aggressive in passing lanes or if a guy gets a step because there’s help at the rim. That makes a huge difference throughout the lineup, but we have dogshit Kidd hurting his own team lol.
lol this dude is 25 and did an internship with the mavs in high school. Talk abt being born into wealth
