Love the man to death, though in Masters it seems like I go up against nothing but Ashe/Soldier/Widow. I understand that he isn’t as aim intensive as those characters but every game feels like an uphill battle to close the distance. I also understand that every character will have hard matchups. How, in your opinion, can he be changed without be being too oppressive in other ranks? Or should he not be changed at all? Generally curious what people think about this subject.
P.S. This post is not to shit on the characters mentioned above. I play them as well.

Option 1 - Tighten either his whole spread, or at least part of his spread like Roadhog got.
Option 2, which could be mixed with #1 - Introduce a resource-meter wraith, allowing him to stay in the fight longer by dodging more damage and cooldowns.
Maybe include his old wraith in his empty ability slot, having it sacrifice the new wraith’s entire supply in order to have the reload and speed boost his new wraith probably won’t give.
I just play Quickplay and this is really interesting to me because he is my go to pick when things aren’t going well/ I’m doing trash on Hanzo. Unless I get hard countered and focused, usually I feel really strong on Reaper.
That being said I am definitely not against him being buffed!
Just out of curiosity, what prevents him from excelling in higher ranks? Does he get focused down too easily? Is he still good at surprise ults via dropping from high ground behind squishies? Is it harder to Wraith out of sticky situations? I’m genuinely curious.
From MY experience in masters: • Large hit box makes him extremely vulnerable to long range hitscans. Also has no way to contest them from afar (understandable, shotgun CQ character.) • TP is loud and makes him very vulnerable coming out of it (though you shouldn’t be doing this out in the open. This is only if someone hears you coming out of it or gets a read on you.) • Death Blossom MUST catch the enemy off guard, especially if used on multiple people (like 3 +) or you will get focused down quick. Anyone anywhere outside of its range is going to kill him if he’s in their los. • Surprise ults are hard because more people start tracking ults in higher elo, so they’re more aware. • I wouldn’t say it’s harder to wraith out of sticky situations. You should know when to get in and out and not wait until you’re on the absolute brink of death to use it. It’s his best ability and a fantastic one. Also, just peaking your healers in wraith is usually enough.
Long range shotgun. We have heard of sniper monkey, now give us sniper Reaper
Give him a 3 round burst grenade launcher like in the reveal trailer

Restore the heal back on kills and remove the heal back when you hit, no head multiplier no more but deals more damage overall upclose, new secondary fire where he shoots like four shots all at one and for a more distant range (medium), head multiplier but you need to recharge after that
They should give him a short speed burst or like reduced sounds after his teleport
Either make to invisible but keep the voice line or keep the visuals but make it quiet
I had an idea to cut down the cast time of Shadow Step by 30-50% and give him an alt fire. The big thing is that it should be a mid range ability that can dwindle HP so that he can finish them off at close range, but not one that makes him more effective at a distance.
So what if his alt fire has some kind of mid range, small AoE poison effect? Did like 90 damage over 3 sec or something? Idk. And maybe poisoned targets grant bonus lifesteal on a kill or something? Idk, it’s something.
Smoek grenades that hinder the enemy team in somweay. Not like the actual hinder effecr, but it’s a detriment to stand in it in someway shape or form
Reaper using wraith form inside the smoke makes him near invisible, and his teleport inside smoke clouds are invisible. Still fully audible though of course for both abilties, but this can lead to more panic because reaper can now use the smoke to obscure the enemies line of fire, while also threatening to appear right next to them far easier. Or perhaps he drops the smoke and simplys ambushes from a different angle while the enemy team is trying to prepare for him to appear in the smoke.
I would allow his wraith to make a shroud on entrance and exit for 5 seconds.
No one can see into or out of the shroud
The shroud lasts 6 seconds.
Reaper’s lifesteal goes up by 10% when damaging enemies in the shroud.
Shroud size is an 8 meter dome. (Lucio’s aura is 12 meters. Reaper’s would be 2/3 the size and shaped like a dome)
Or option 2.
Fear grenade. Throw it in and make everyone run in the opposite direction of the grenade
Heros with really simple kits that don’t really change a bunch getting weaker is indicitve that other heros are more in need of nerfs rather than giving the simple hero more buffs
- Resource bar/charges on wraith form.
- RMB creates a faked TP smoke at target location.
Both of the abilities remain the original abilities but improves their flexibility. The goal is to increase the skill-ceiling.
Please for the love of god give me some sort of slug or mid range shot so I can kill people who simply walk away from me.
