With Goffs recent struggles, I am seeing a lot more “looking forward to HH” posts in the social sphere. Typically the responses to this are just trashing HH and the poster. Why is that? Not sure what I am missing. From the highlights, HH looks pretty good. I don’t think it is out of this world to think he might be the future.

Also, I’m not one that thinks Goff is done. Winning teams lose and elite quarter backs have bad games. They even have back to back bad games, but looking for clarity.

Yeh traahing him is dumb but so is thinking benching goff with 8 wins and 3 losses for an NFL rookie will work.

The statistical odds of any drafted qb being a starter long term are pretty low so any film on hendon or expectations can be put aside because lots of great looking qb prospects flop , its LIKELY that he will flop. Not because of him but because its insanely hard to be top 32 at a thing

Detroit is the most insecure population. Instead of sticking with Goff, it’s easier to pine for HH because if he fails, well, no expectations. Expectations carry weight. And weight is too much of a commitment for those who are scared.

See the whole - Detroit vs Everyone campaign. How about be excellent and no one will be “against” you

I want to see what Hendon could be but Goff has had 2 bad games and i’m not giving up on him, the defense sucked and frankly so did Dan Campbell’s gambles on 4th down yesterday. No one person deserves the blame in that loss. Total team effort.

Goff isn’t an elite qb that’s the disconnect rams have here I think most people view him as solid but not elite which could be replaceable then some fans consider him one of the best in the league. I personally would not be excited if they sign him to some huge extension

He’s better than solid but not one of the best in the league, top 7-11 range rankings wise.

Bro, Goff has led this team to a 16-5 record the past 21 games while playing on a team with a shit defense most of the time. He persevered thru a 0-10-1 start with no offensive weapons and came out thru the other side. Most QBs would’ve been broken coming thru what he had to endure. You don’t give the keys to a budding franchise to a rookie coming off an ACL who is unproven at this level.

Goff alone is the reason you don’t see jamo doing what he can do. A QB who can’t throw it down field makes jamo almost a waste. Goff is a good QB. Maybe top 20 talent wise. The good you see from him is due to great weapons and a great OC. The guy has no athleticism at all. I give him tons of credit for what he’s been able to do with such a lack of natural gifts.

Because the chances of a 3rd round rookie being an upgrade over Goff are extremely slim. The salary cap savings mean nothing if he ends up being bad like 95% of 3rd round QBs do.

We’ve seen Goff perform at an elite level when he has a pocket for even a reasonable amount of time. Seems like we know how to improve the QB stats and get the offense back where it should be. O-line performance.

Hendon Hooker made Josh Heupel look like an elite coach. Kind of like Kenneth Walker did for Mel Tucker. I think Hooker is going to be a starting quarterback at some point, and he would certainly be more mobile than Goff. But I’m not one of those who is crucifying Goff right now, let’s see if the turnover trend continues, but if it does not, I think he is the leader for this team in the near future. And then the Lions will have the luxury of seeing what they have in Hooker starting next summer and into the preseason games.

I think it’s nothing against HH, seeing highlights from college doesn’t show what he will do at the pro level, if that was the case Johnny Football would have been a hall of fame QB. So it’s just annoyance that people want to get rid of Goff after 2 rough games and but the future of the franchise on a guy that hasn’t taken a single pro snap even in preseason. Especially when Goffs been in the top 10 in all stats for a year straight and even yesterday threw for 325 and 2tds, and we are 8-3 the best record in how long?
