Everyone calling for a trade or firing etc…What is something that can be done to reasonably make this team better in the near future?

The value of our guys are at a low. The pieces we have that are expiring are not even playing, hence their value to anyone looking to gain a piece for a run is not high. While in the meantime the guys were probably looking to move like Bogey, Burks, Monte are kind of the guys we need here to stabilize the young roster.

I know we can say trade Wiseman, Bagley or Hayes but in reality what does that even get you back.

Until we get that first round pick that New York Knicks own sorted out, we’re essentially strapped to even move picks.

Trigger Troy had tied himself into a knot.

Nothing will turn this around immediately. I’m in favor of blowing it up but only if lead by a new GM.

Unless some massive turn around happens where they at least look competitive again which is more than possible to happen, nothing you can do, pieces have zero to no value. As a front office if you know bojan is going to have issues you ship him out, just get the frp back and call it a day

Fellas—This is why Weaver should have handled free agency differently. I argued with a lot of you over the summer about the Joe Harris trade to “free up” more cap space next season. If Weaver doesn’t parlay that contract into something real, he needs to be shot into space.

    Humor me:

What if he signed Kuzma and Seth Curry with the $30 mill in space? (Kuzma would look amazing in Stewart’s starting spot and be that 3rd scorer the team desperately needs. Did you see him destroy us last night?)

What about Grant Williams AND Max Strus–Williams takes Stewart’s starting spot and Strus is the 6th man off the bench. (More wins)

Or if he wanted cap flexibility but to win some games, he could have done one year deals like: Torrey Craig, Christian Wood AND Kelly Oubre to put some f’ing points on the board and allow guys like Stewart, Ausar and Duren to focus on defense.

WEAVER F’D UP!!! Or he has a master plan none of us can see, which I have 5% hope for.

Weaver is working like he has endless rope. That Harris move was a mess and a majority of people felt that way. I think a bunch of the fanbase thought it would set up for something bigger, sadly it won’t.

We didn’t have to make the big splash like dumping money on Cam Johnson, but a few more moves like stated about would have made me feel a bit better about the offseason.

I thought Monte Morris was a nice move, adding Sasser made sense in that I thought Killian was all but done. Now with Monte out that has made this offseason a bigger disaster.

All the vets we have that we actually need to help stabilize this team are hurt. I imagine the wound wouldn’t have gotten as large as it has if Bojan, Monte, Burks and Harris played in 75% of these games. We’re leaking right now.

Roster-wise, getting Bogdanovic back and giving him some of Stewart’s minutes would help a lot. He was by far our most productive player last year.

When Monte Morris can play again (and if he’s as good as the last couple of years) we would be much better than Killian and Sasser. If he took all of their minutes we would be better immediately.

Maybe there’s something we can do with scheme and game plan to get Cade playing better but that’s up to the coaches and players. He has been an all-time horrible high usage no efficiency guy so far. I believe in him, but we can’t win with him playing like this.

That’s the funny thing; there isn’t a clean cut solution when essentially everything is failing at a systematic level. In other walks of life, you say your goodbyes and cut ties. A human body ran like the Pistons would be dead. A business would be bankrupt.

The roster is a mess of young guys who can’t shoot and vets that are in decline.

Firing Weaver doesn’t change the games outcome in a discernible way this season. Blowing up the roster would also incur a lot of blow back and shaming from the media and fans. Firing Williams 17 games into his 5 or 6 year contract would also look rash and Gores and the FO would look incompetent for spending several months on the coaching search just to pull the cord after a horrible first month.

I’m not pleading patience or that better days are ahead if you just give them time. I’d say it’s most likely not. But I do not see a pathway in-season to making wide spread changes unless they want to start shipping out their young guys for middling vets that at least can play offense and defense.

I hate to say it, but it’s probably time to clean house again.

Keep the core which i believe should be Cade, Duren & Ausar. I know Ivey is strong favorite here, but he is the only one we can offer that can net a decent return right now unless we offer Cade. I would actually be ok with Ivey over Cade.

Outside of those 3 core players, tear this shit down and start again. That means letting Troy go also.

Bring back Hamidou Diallo. That dude at least played hard and brought energy to the court.

just need to assemble a good veteran bench, once bogey is back it will be a huge boost; monte morris is acc a nice backup pg yet to play but we need better rather than just signing busts and hoping they turn into starters. ps livers should under no circumstances be playing in a 4th quarter.
