Seems like supports are very useless compared to carrys especially late game they die in one hit and no one enjoys playing them. I feel like they should boost supports early game more to counter carrys. All they do is ward and babysit its not that fun and sucks when the carry fails, seems like teams with no support do just as well if the games past 30min

I uh, don’t think you are playing the support to its fullest capabilities.

??? thats some final fantasy, gacha game, diablo take. mom why does not everyhing die when i walk into a room, i ve paid 100.- for a rgb hat. you do not understand hero designs, roles, timings, or basically anything related to dota

ask yourself… if supports are stronger than carries early and w/ your rework equal late…why would anyone pick a carry hero?

You dont call it a SUPPORT if it is strong as your CARRY.

The point is that they do not need items, while yes a crystal maiden dies in a few hits from a fully farmed faceless void late game, she can hold him down with frostbite into freezing field dealing 60% to all his team members with nothing more than boots and whatever item she buys to make sure she doesn’t get stunned (ghost scepter, linkens, bkb, glimmer) while that faceless needed to farm all game to kill her, she didn’t need a penny more than the 500 gold for boots to carry her weight in a late game fight. Supports aren’t about just being decent early game, they’re about not needing the money later. Also enjoyment really depends on the person and character, saying no one enjoys playing support is just wrong.

I get the concept of a support guys, but most games seem to go longer and what ive noticed is carry-supports are way more effective than traditional ones

    im enjoying support
and i can carry early to late game
like treant, you just need shard and he is too op
unlike carry, you need farm before you have impact

Supports are absolutely killing it right, especially now that Aeon Disk exists, along with a bunch of other escape items.

i used to think this way as well until just recently, it really comes down to role execution at different stages in the game. As a support, you will be creating a safe zone for your cores as well engaging in fights early and often. At my current bracket i usually win the laning phase with proper warding, pulling and ganking, all while giving my core enough distance to get full xp most of the time.

Until you go against another talented support you never realize how much the finer points of this gameplay is neglected and how much it affects the trajectory of the cores in the lane both on your side and the other. A 3 who is almost completely shut down in lane will have to focus on recovery when they should be focusing on mid game activities, i’ve had so many blowout wins not only because my 1 is so far ahead, but because of a clean shift from laning to aggressive ganking on the enemy’s side of the map.

I never used to play support at all, now i main hard support any game i can, my win rate has gone way up.

Supports are literally the strongest they have ever been in the history of Dota 2. Between neutral items, a bigger map, aghs shards, general power creep, supports have more farm and more options for both damage (phylactery) and survivability (aeon disk, ogre seal) than in the past.
