It’s very rare for LCK teams to be able to retain their players. It only happened after SSG won in 2017. I’m not couting 2013 SKT as imports werent a thing back then and neither were big money lpl contracts
And for SSG it didn’t work well at the end either
The biggest difference is all of T1 players excluding Keira was T1 grown talent.
I ain’t a pro gamer and money is always a big deal for moving teams but I feel like building a dynasty is wayyyy cooler.
Winning Worlds is the ultimate validation for a roster. Unless you’ve got a team of 5 intent on building a dynasty, usually someone will want to leave to secure more money for their future or just enjoy a different environment after winning one title.
I’d say that players have to really enjoy the roster/environment to be willing to stay in situations like this.
There has to be something that incentivizes them to not seek out what is in their best interests, which is always better contracts. Hope they can find a way to stick together, it’d be sick to see this roster continue forward.

Honestly, why are people so obsessed with Faker retiring? He’s consistently shown that he is a master at what he does and hasn’t slowed down one bit, yet somehow people treat this 27yo as if he was 80. Everyone should stay in T1, there’s literally no benefit outside of quick cash if they quit and join LPL. In LCK T1 is still the richest team.
Yup Nuguri quickly comes to mind. FPX were probably paying him a shit ton, but he got burned out so quickly playing in lpl. Still saddened by what could’ve been damwon contesting T1’s legacy to nuguri and showmaker become a husk of their previous selves.
