Stop assuming all your players are dumb. Don’t be afraid to implement deep skill trees, dual class systems, etc., in RPGs especially. I want a character who does some things, not all of the things.
If it’s not third person mode, I’ll grab the game in a few years when it’s 75%+ off.
Some genres are just better for procedural generation than others. Like, for a Diablo-like, or a musou game, level design doesn’t actually matter all that much, so procedural generation is a great way to get more content.
There’s also games with pseudo-procedural generation like Warframe. That is, the individual rooms are all hand-crafted, but the combination and connections of those rooms are procedural. Meaning that it’s the best of both worlds.

Much less time spent in cooperative online games too, but I’m still up from some Warframe, Guild Wars 2, or Diablo 3.
I actually finish the large majority of my games now.
I no longer fret over not having all the dlc quests/expansions. The best content is usually the base story anyway.
In my opinion, the only games that are acceptable on mobile are turn-based games. They’re a great home for tb tactics games like Shining Force, and FF Tactics. Also card games and puzzles of course.

Fire Emblem Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn are two of the most expensive games in my collection. And I have no intention of parting with them as I still replay them. PoR is a masterpiece.

Depends on the degree. Boring is usually worse, but there is absolutely a degree of frustrating that gets worse than boring.
Valkyria Chronicles 1 is a game that’s a lot more fun to think about playing than it is to actually play. Same for Fire Emblem Fates, Skyrim, and Kingdoms of Amalur.
Diablo 2
The best standalones are 0 and Like a Dragon.
But the series is so good you will want to play more after.
I for one am not. Don’t get me wrong. There’s a few indie games I really like, such as Supergiant games and Casette Beasts, but overall I am more than happy with AA and AAA because I know what I like, and I generally know how to spot whether a game will be good for me.

I’m imagining how much more interesting things would be if Minerva was the first lord rather than Marth. She has the more interesting story, and would have made quite the impression as the OG Smash FE rep.
Rowan and Lianna in Warriors. We lost 2 potential actual FE reps for this? I get that Shez is actually great in the followup, but it still makes my blood boil that Ike, Roy, Hector, Ephraim, and Sigurd didn’t make it in, while I’m locked into being represented by Wish.com Goku.
Also, Alear in Engage. Their personality is fine and all, but I just can’t get over how shit they look. It actively makes the game worse that you have to walk around looking like a vtuber. Please, never bring this artist on for FE again.

Vaan is notoriously a nothing protagonist and could be traded with anyone.
Xenoblade
I’d trade Rex for half a potato.
I’m gonna go with Persona 5 Tactica even as a fan of Persona and tactics games. It was just so boring I couldn’t finish it.
