I don’t think so, if I get the chance I’ll look it up and find out who was talking about it.
I go through life without expectations, so honestly, I won’t give up on Pickett until he is literally not on the team anymore. Honestly, everyone should want him to turn it around, it’s not like we’re getting a new better QB tomorrow.
I mean 2021 wasn’t great but I’d argue it’s still too early to tell with most of the 2022 draft class. I think it’d be better, and more accurate, to say that over the past decade Colbert hasn’t drafted well in the first round.
I wouldn’t be against firing the entire offensive staff to be honest. Has anyone from that part of the organization done enough to warrant keeping their job. It won’t happen, but if it did, I would definitely say “yeah that makes sense”.
I love the Steelers, when they are good and bad, but damn can this subreddit be exhausting.
The loudest voices are the ones who waffle between ridiculous reactionary takes and lack any sort of reasonable nuance. I’m all for criticizing and discussing performances (of players, coaches, front office, and ownership) and talking about future possibilities (trades, signings, picks, and hires), but it feels like it devolves into calls to burn it all to the ground or do something completely out of character, from an organizational context, more often than not.
Time to not let Rudolph air it out?
You know I heard a former Steelers tight end recently talk about how the playbook lacks the “why” of certain play designs that other coordinators include in their playbooks. I wonder if including the “why” would help all the players get on the same page. If they all know the idea behind calling whatever play was called maybe they would execute it better. That does, however, give credit to Canada having any idea what plays need to be called, but still.
This looks like a Walking Dead mod for Mount and Blade
He’s sucked ass recently, but I’m still the type of guy who says it’s not over until it’s over and we still have seven games left this season. He needs to be better, but none of us know the extent to which the coaching may have affected his development, and like it or not, he’s our starter until he isn’t. So, I’ll call his shit play out, but I’m going to hope for a turn around as long as he’s under center.
Kenny Pickett was bad, he needs to play better, but he hasn’t yet. Matt Canada sucks and I don’t think anyone would disagree. Mike Tomlin, and the Steelers organization as a whole, have failed by not taking any significant action to pair a young new QB with an offensive coordinator who could develop any potential he may have had.
One of our biggest mistakes was rolling with Canada in the off-season, Bieniemy was available, and we stuck with Canada; it’s frustrating. Kenny needs to be better, but I have no confidence in any one on the staff being able to help coach and develop a young QB, so you end up with regression rather than progression.
This isn’t a defense of Kenny, but I do wonder if at some point they over-emphasized avoiding turnovers to the point that he avoids big-plays that are open in favor of the flat or check-downs out of an over-abundance of caution.
Can’t wait to beat Philly in the Super Bowl 19-17!
Crazy, it’s almost like we should support our QBs and hope they get better instead of dogpiling on them and talking about how shit we think they are.
I’d say not that well. Feel like all platforms (in regard to fans posting about the team) are largely ways for fans to vent their frustrations, so most of the time you have unmitigated doom-posting rather than more nuanced and measured takes that are more indicative of how the fanbase actually feels.
Realistically, I don’t think there is a viable option to replace Pickett this year/coming offseason that would prove to be a substantial upgrade in the short term to line up with the talent we have that could potentially age out. I’d much rather invest in foundational pieces that could give any QB a better chance particularly in a new scheme. So, take the capital necessary and spend it on upgrading the o-line (center and RT at this point), bolstering the secondary, and finding a true reliable ILB.
He’s probably going to get some sort of chewed out during the course of the week, I don’t see any point in removing an otherwise effective wide receiver at this point in the season.
