  • Am I supposed to go to a side lane and catch waves?

The way I’m typically playing it is that you’re 1shotting the waves and then sprinting up the map, you want to be cheating up towards the middle of the map in case a fight breaks out. Waves spawn every 30 seconds, that means if you clear the wave in 1-2 seconds you’ve got 28 seconds to do other stuff before the waves meet again. If you have a botlane with no engage who just bounce waves, its going to be tough though, hope your jungle can carry.

It really sucks being 20-25 minutes into the game, being a tempo midlaner, and then getting shuffled down to botlane while your botlane bounces midwaves because they have absolutely no clue what they are doing, its just something that comes with having to play midlane in 2023.

I find that if I stay around my team too much i fall behind in gold and xp and end up feeling useless.

You can stick with your team a little more if you have engage. If you have no engage, midgame is going to be extremely difficult. Pick champs who can start fights, its okay to drop waves every once in a while if you come out ahead on grouped fights.

  • often times this doesn’t reflect who the player is nowadays.

Completely true, I still have Ekko as my highest mastery champ, a champ I have likely played less than 10 times in the last five years.

Personally I think that showing off champion pool is one of the easiest ways to let players express themselves, I feel like there’s very few options in the game for real self expression. I don’t know exactly the best way to do it, but I like showing off the group of champions that I feel exemplify my style.

  • So in the previous system with 10 teams, double round robin, every team played 18 games and there were 90 total games played.

If we do a single round robin best of three with 8 teams, the every team will play somewhere between 14 and 21 games depending on series length. So the season would now take somewhere between 56 games and 84 games total. Is my math correct there? Can someone peer check me? So i’m pretty certain that even if you go to a full three games for every series, its still a shorter overall broadcast time than what we would have had in a 10 team season.

Personally I’ve been asking for single round robin best of three for a year or two now, I think its an improvement over the best of one format.

  • Tanks get their OP patch or two out of the way in preseason every year, and looking at the first wave of numbers that looks to be true here too. They obviously haven’t finalized everything so I wouldn’t be surprised if the final shipped items have significantly lower numbers on them. Divine being gone, nerfs to %armor pen, removal of mythic liandry, it feels like those things probably would have already been an indirect tank buff even ignoring the array of MR item buffs.

  • Who is Cryptbloom for? Teammate healing after takedown and the %magic pen make this item seem incredibly split in users. I can’t think of any champion who wants this unless its essentially someone trying to become AP Fiora.

Hollow Radiance, Titanic Hydra, Riftmaker, and Liandry are all items I’m excited for, really not sure about the mage mana options though since Mythic Liandry was my far the most usable default option.
