For me, it is Bard. He not only embodies the lore of cosmic being that just flies around, but also his kit doesn’t ever feel overly oppressive. Whenever a bard destroys me, it feels like it is because he played well, not his champ being busted.

Let’s give the devs some love, who do you think is the best designed champ?

I would gladly say that Irelia is thr best designed champion if she was untied of a fucking blade, so I have to say Aatrox or Akshan.

Both are rewarding and fair — you can dodge all of Aatrox’s damage and laning into an Akshan is a time test. If he doesn’t dive you at 4rth wave, he becomes useless

I actually think reworked Aatrox is excellent design. Really rewards being good at him while also having a lot of counterplay. When I play top I feel like every match against Aatrox is a cat and mouse game and it’s fun. Baiting out his Q, getting baited myself.

I think he’s in a relatively good spot right now definitely where he has some fun back and forth matchups playing into him. I think he’s much more fun to play against now that they moved him back to fighter builds and off the lethality builds.

Post-rework Akali was peak champion design imho, and she was one of the coolest champions even after they made her first R point and click. She was unique, because unlike other assassins, she couldn’t just go in and oneshot a squishy, she had to make perfect use of spacing, go back and forth, use all her tools to outplay the opponent, gain time and then execute

But then she just went downhill, change after change, and now she’s just the average oneshot assassin with no counterplay

Azir and Kalista are also some of the best champions in terms of design, skill expression and satisfaction

I think champs like Nami, Vi, viktor, ahri, lucien, Camille that can maintain a high pick rate, a big number of people who enjoy them and a ver y low banrate are probably the best designed ones

But idk if league would be the same without BS yasuo and shaco running around

Vi is in a great spot. Terrifying mobile champ whose skills are so bright and loud that it demands a reaction from your team. All heads turn when she ults an adc, that’s a really good thing

Like Riot August said, I think it’s Zed.

He doesn’t one shot you, he requires skill to play, he has counterplay, he has a lot of damage if played to perfection, he has mobility which suits the assassin theme and he has the “go in, kill and get out” assassin theme in his kit as well.

The only problem is that he has counterplay. And guess what happens in low elo where people don’t know how to counter him ? He becomes stronger and more frustrating. So lack of skill by the people versing Zed is the only problem with Zed. Kinda funny.

Bard, K’sante, Yasuo, Akali, Katarina, Zed, Yone, Tresh.

I like playing complex champions whether it’s mechanics wise or in some other sense.

Jinx. She is the epitome of the adc fantasy. Extremely high dps output, phenomenal to play in fights, and a perfect knifes edge of positioning and spacing and right clicking bad guys while basically being two different adc archetypes at the same time

8 think Pantheon is a fairly good design since he shows clear weaknesses and strengths. If someone wants to discuss I’ll reply

Jhin is the best designed champion. Clear strengths, clear weaknesses, not oppressive yet rewards good matchup knowledge.

Jhin, you have very clear strengths and very clear deficiencies. he is good in some situations. he is bad in other situations. and both of these situations are relatively speaking equal in how often they exist.
