Comparing a full strength lions team with a garbage defense and their actual starting QB to an injured Vikings team with a QB that cannot throw well, doesn’t know the playbook, and is a turnover machine and good defense is just a bad argument. So many people resort to platitudes as if that means anything, “KOC is playing not to lose” is the most brain dead take when it’s all you say. Stripping all context is borderline malicious, and anger for a 2nd year headcoach in the situation he is in, is laughable. Feels like some of you want the org to be the panthers and just turn over coaches when KOC is clearly very good.

If Dobbs didn’t play like he did, Hall would’ve kept going. The problem was Dobbs got hot and why take out a guy that had juice. Now the problem the Vikings have 3 options, 2 of which we have seen before and 1 unknown and the team is still in playoff contention.

Mullens is the boring, vanilla choice but will most likely be able to make the most of the passing game of the 3. Hall might be better, but we haven’t seen it and the coaches have at least seen it in practice. Got 2 weeks to evaluate.

Yea I’m at a trust the team stage anyway since it’s not like we have a ton of deep talent at the spot. I’d like to see more Hall too, but I think this decision will come down to who can win. It’s Just wierd to talk about because never had to before!

I have general concerns about a back injury but obviously outside my area of expertise. Personally, I’ve always thought mullens to be a back up and his record would imply that. I think most people are curious about Hall because it’s this admin’s draft and it’s the unknown. They said, with this team trying to win I don’t think they want to put out an unproven rookie.

Yea, I saw that too and I agree with you. I would love to just see Hall but I doubt it’ll happen especially with the playoff race and JJ coming back.

Dobbs was clearly riding the hot hand. I think this past game was evidence that KOC wants a guy that can play within the pocket. Honestly, it felt like KOC kept Dobbs out there and basically said prove to me you can throw well.

The age old adage is when you have 2 QBs, you have no QBs. Id much rather see what Hall has, but I think that’s a bit of an admission that this team isn’t SB worthy. Dobbs has some real skills, but I don’t think he is a starter, at least not until he improves on his passing game. Personally, I think this offense runs through the passing game so I’d like our QB to be the guy to take advantage of that. Until further notice though, it makes sense Dobbs is the guy. He should build chemistry with the crew and KOC should be feeling out the do’s and don’ts of his situation with Dobbs.

Guess I have lower expectations since Cousins got hurt. I was the ultimate homer when Cousins beat the 9ers on Monday night. With Dobbs I expect to have fun, but winning isn’t really a parameter for having a good time.

Did people expect him to break off big runs? I thought the whole point of dropping Cook for mattison is to get away from famine famine feast. Mattison’s whole point to me was to get 3-4 yards per cary so the passing game can open it up.

I don’t think it’s overblown anymore. I think he struggles with what is considered open in the NFL. He can find wide open guys. Thanks to his scrambling, but he seems to struggle to put the ball in a spot for his receivers when there is minor separation. I don’t think Dobbs trusts his accuracy.

Im sorry, I love Dobbs but there is clearly a deeper issue here with him passing deep. It feels like Dobbs can’t throw to NFL open players. He either throws a sketchy ball or it’s to a wide open guy. Where is the deeper ball? You have some premium weapons and it’s never deeper than 20 yards.

I know most people would consider missing the playoffs the worst outcome, but tbh, if we are battling for a wildcard in the final weeks I won’t really mind. I think we are learning a lot about KOC as a leader and headcoach through adversity. 0-3 start, losing your best player to injury, and turning this ship around? I love me some KOC, and I think we are learning he is a dog through good and bad.

Is it just me or does it feel like we have a rivalry (one sided mostly) with the 9ers? Maybe it’s because the shannahan/Cousins connection.
